Disciples II: Dark Prophecy Quest Godslayer Proving Grounds Hints and Walkthrough NOTICE: This file contains 'spoilers'. If you wish to experience the quest as the author intended then you should not read the entire contents of this file. Hints: Play the quest with a hero that has completed the Empire saga. The quest has been playtested with a level 10 knight, level 10 wizard and also with heroes with levels higher than 10. Import your hero equiped with a paralizing or holding item (I.E. Soul Crystal). From the time the player leaves the starting area the majority of stacks they will encounter contain at least one large, high hit point, creature (I.E. Ogre). These creatures can kill lower level minions (squires, etc) in usually one attack. Use a hero that either has a tomb of war (25% experience) or Weapon Master atribute. This will help level your troops at an excellerated rate. There are massive amounts of experience to be gained. I reccommend you use the Knight/Imperial Knight/Paladin/Defender of the Faith structures. If you choose the other way for your fighters they might not be strong enough to survive the later stages of the quest. Dont bother with capital defences. Take all of the armies in the capital garrison and move them to your hero. You will not need to defend your capital. Dont build another hero. Your imported/starting hero should be all you need. Play the quest with a hero that can support 5 minions at the start. There is strength in numbers and you will need a full army by the time you finish the first section of the map. Dont waste your money building rod makers (arch-angels). All of the mana found on this map is in close proximity to a town. The only exception is two stacks of life mana found close to the starting point. Eventually this mana is acquired through land growth. It does take a while for this to happen so if you need life mana feel free to make a rod maker and capture the mana. But you probably shouldn't do this until you have built most of the upgrade structures up to the Paladin structure. Use the majority of your gold to build the unit upgrade structures. I tried to balance the experience of the game to where you will have enough money to build the structures just at the time you need them. Sell the majority of the items you find (talismans, orbs, etc) for upgrade structures. Unless you like playing with stacks that aren't advancing. In the early stages of the quest the majority of the stacks will give life potions and healing potions as a reward. Use these potions instead of a Temple because you will need the gold for unit upgrade structures. When you capture a race's town, be sure to check the town inventory for usable items. In each subsequent section the booty found in the town vaults increases in value/strength. Purchase and use the permanent stats increase potions on your minions. Scattered throughout the town vaults and merchants are potions that add to hit points, power, armor, etc. If you are playing with a hero that finished the Empire saga you probably have already used these potions. The bonuses added to your minions can make a big differene in some of the battles. Walkthrough: Defeat the enemies and loot the tower in the area by the capital. Enter the first valley and defeat the ogre. Defeat the stacks in the valleys to the left and right. Move to the second tower. Go to the right and defeat the wolves. Continue right and take the items found (on the land and also those guarded by the mermaid) Continue down into the dwarves realm. Defeat the dwarves and capture their city. (thus opening the next area) Loot the dwarven vault found about midway through the dwarve realm. Go to the left and down into the second section. (ignore the water creatures) Defeat the barbarians. If you do not have a paralizing item and can use talismans, loot the barbarian vault. Continue moving right past the spiders. If you do not have a paralizing item and can use artifacts, loot the spider den for it contains a soul crystal. If the battle is too difficult come back after you kill off the undead. Proceed into the undead realms. Defeat the stacks and capture their city. Loot the undead vault (found to the left of Undead Hold). Go back the way you came in and loot the barbarian vault and spider den if you have not already done so. Go into the water dwellers region and capture their items. This will open the door into area three (undead artifact and water dweller artifact). Proceed into area 3. Go to the right and down into the Empire realm. Capture Highfathers's Will. Exit the empire area (defeat the spawned stacks). Go to the elven area found to the left of the entrance into area two. Capture the elven city. Go back into the entrance into area three and proceed to the left into the Legions realm. Proceed into the legions realm. Defeat all of the stacks and capture the Legion city. The door to the final area will be opened to you when you have the artifacts from the Empire, Elves and the Legions. Proceed into the final area. Follow the road to the left into the valley. Continue following the road and defeat all of the blocking stacks until you come to the end of the valley. Defeat the final stack and proceed to the altar.
